David J. Kaplan

David Kaplan, principle owner of David J. Kaplan & Associates, Ltd., graduated from the University of Baltimore where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Finance with a concentration in Accounting. Initially David was recruited and received a golf scholarship by the University of Maryland (College Park) in 1983 & 84 where he played for then golf coach Fred Funk (a current PGA Tour Golfer). When not practicing accounting, David continues to compete in some of the most prestigious amateur golf tournaments on the east coast.

 

David has been providing full service accounting and income tax services for over 30 years. While developing a niche for working with professional golfers in the Mid-Atlantic region he currently consults with regard to their employment contracts and provides income tax and accounting related services. He has been recognized as an expert by many of the head golf professionals in the Middle Atlantic Golf Association where he provides lectures and speaking engagements to golf professionals. In 2007, Mr. Kaplan was nominated as the Amateur Golfer of the Year recognizing substantial contributions both as a player and as a consultant to the golf profession.

 

David is also very active in the healthcare industry where he previously served as a Consultant to Management in the temporary healthcare staffing industry. He currently works with Physicians, Nurses, Dentists, Optometrists and other healthcare providers in the areas of tax, accounting and estate planning.

 

David also provides Information Systems support to many of his clients. He has developed and maintained Microsoft Windows Domain Servers and Peer-to-Peer network configurations and protocols. Another service area includes working with management in developing strategies in safeguarding privileged client and employee data for backup and security needs.
